She truly is a kind and generous person, isn’t she? Who knows how many hours she had to suffer in those shoes, yet she puts up with it because she knows how many fans are counting on her. And also because she’s probably getting paid a lot of money. Either way, thank you, Sarah Jessica Parker - thank you.

While I consider myself a fairly avid fan of Sex and the City, one thing that always bothered me about the show was the questionable wardrobe choices of one Ms. Carrie Bradshaw. She would often wear really terrible outfits with such grace, it was almost as if she was silently announcing her victory over all non-NYCers through her awful outfits, as if she were saying to herself, ‘The non-NYC plebes will not know the difference! Mwahaha!!”.

Now, I’ve been to NYC enough to know that very few people actually walk down the street dressed like this. And if they do, they should be shot.

Filming just started for the Sex and the City movie and lucky for you, we have one of the first photos from the set. Here’s Carrie, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, reuniting with Mr. Big (Chris Noth).  I am so hoping that this movie will have all the magic that the show had, but I am wary.

Today I’d like to touch upon why we love Sarah Jessica Parker here at Scandelirious. It really all boils down to one thing: homegirl is expressive.

Now I read lots of blog posts about SJP and frequently see comments about how she “looks like a horse”, or how she “looks old”, or other useless garbage…. and I find it really annoying. SJP is an actress, not a model. She gets paid to play characters, and aren’t most characters supposed to be believable? Aren’t we usually supposed to connect to the characters we see on television and in the movies? SJP is great because she really can act!

To prove this point I’m including some recent photos of SJP at an autograph signing for her clothing line Bitten. Here you can see her in all of her expressive glory while talking to fans. She seems like such a real person, and that’s why I love her. She’s on the short list of celebrities I wish I could be friends with.

I love SJP but this Elle UK cover is just awful. Awful! I hope someone gets fired for picking the cover shot on this one. The only redeemable part of this situation is that SJP is featured in the US Elle for August as well and that photoshoot is actually quite lovely. So if you want to see the sub-par photos (plus the interview, which will make you forget the awful photos and love her even more) from the UK version, check out this post.
