September 13th, 2007 — Rachel McAdams, people we love

Moving right along to yet another person we really, really love here at Scandelirious - Rachel McAdams! Our love for Rachel knows no bounds. We even loved it when she was rocking the pink hair.

Here’s Rachel yesterday at the “Married Life” premiere during the Toronto International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada. As always, she looks stunning.

September 13th, 2007 — Felicity Huffman, people we love

Yay, it’s Felicity Huffman! I’ll admit I’ve never watched much of Desperate Housewives - I’m not quite in the target demographic considering I don’t want to get married for another, oh, 10 years and the idea of kids makes me go ‘blech’… but what I have seen Felicity in has made me love her. She is a very intelligent and talented actress and when I see her I get warm and fuzzy feelings. Part of that might also be because she’s married to the totally awesome William H. Macy, who can do no wrong as far as I’m concerned.
But I suspect one of the biggest reasons why I love her so much is because she is the only actor or actress to have appeared in all three of Aaron Sorkin’s tv shows: Sports Night, The West Wing, and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. And let it be known that we here at Scandelirious are big, big fans of Aaron Sorkin.
Anyway, here’s Felicity at the Platinum Guild International USA Party on Wednesday, looking quite poised with her hot glasses.

September 7th, 2007 — Heidi Klum, people we love

We here at Scandelirious have made no effort to hide our undying love for the one and only Heidi Klum. So it should come as no surprise, then, that when new photos of her come out, they will be posted here, and the commentary will go something like this:
“Heidi looks so great here. Even with the embroidered metallic scorpions on her shirt. Even with too much leather. She still looks like someone I’d want to hang out with. Maybe we could do a couple shots together and she could teach me how to perfect a cute little accent just like hers. She is perfect.”

September 4th, 2007 — Nicole Kidman, people we love
August 23rd, 2007 — Michelle Pfeiffer, Paul Rudd, people we love

Judd Apatow interviews Paul Rudd in Interview magazine:
Apatow: Did having Michelle Pfeiffer as your leading lady create any problems with your wife?
Rudd: It didn’t at all. In fact, the very first day, I had this scene where I was supposed to be making out with Michelle Pfieffer. I told my wife, “Look. I want you to know that I am going to be making out with Michelle Pfeiffer today, and I will be thinking about… Michelle Pfeiffer.” My wife’s response was that when she makes out with me she also thinks about Michelle Pfeiffer.

August 13th, 2007 — Kate Winslet, people we love
August 8th, 2007 — Natalie Portman, people we love

While I certainly don’t do much discriminating as far as celebrity gossip is concerned - goss is goss, I like to say - some stories are just more heartwarming than others. And no, I’m not talking about today’s big “Britney Spears Seduced A College Student In A Pool While Chugging Mojitos” story.
This piece of news might strike some as boring because no one is drunk, no one gets arrested, and no body parts get flashed, but for me it is an affirmation that Natalie Portman is not only one of the most talented actresses of our time but also one of the most intelligent, interesting, and morally-grounded.

Actress Natalie Portman and other celebrities descended on a Rwandan wildlife park on June 30th to name 23 baby mountain gorillas and help efforts to conserve the highly endangered species.
Of about 700 of the gorillas left in the world, just over half live around the lush Virunga volcanoes that straddle Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Decimated by conflict and poaching in the volatile region, numbers have begun creeping up again in recent years thanks to Rwandan conservation efforts.
The gorillas are a big-money tourist attraction in Uganda and Rwanda, but remain at risk from warring militias in DRC.
The celebrities got to tour the park and see the primates, but the babies live in the wild and were left alone, with children in costume standing in for them at the naming ceremony.
One baby gorilla was named “Ingufu” — strength in the local Kinyarwanda dialect — in honor of “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, a hugely popular wildlife documentary-maker killed by a stingray off his native Australia last year.
“We had been planning to come here for some years. We were going to come and do the mountain gorillas. But unfortunately that wasn’t to be with the tragedy last year,” Irwin’s former manager John Stainton said at the ceremony in the foothills of the sanctuary.
“But having this honor to come and name a gorilla in honor of Steve Irwin takes away a sad memory. Steve would have been absolutely thrilled.”
Portman named her baby gorilla “Ahazaza” (future), while conservationist Jack Hanna chose “Ibanga” (secret) for his.

August 6th, 2007 — Sarah Jessica Parker, people we love

Today I’d like to touch upon why we love Sarah Jessica Parker here at Scandelirious. It really all boils down to one thing: homegirl is expressive.
Now I read lots of blog posts about SJP and frequently see comments about how she “looks like a horse”, or how she “looks old”, or other useless garbage…. and I find it really annoying. SJP is an actress, not a model. She gets paid to play characters, and aren’t most characters supposed to be believable? Aren’t we usually supposed to connect to the characters we see on television and in the movies? SJP is great because she really can act!
To prove this point I’m including some recent photos of SJP at an autograph signing for her clothing line Bitten. Here you can see her in all of her expressive glory while talking to fans. She seems like such a real person, and that’s why I love her. She’s on the short list of celebrities I wish I could be friends with.
