While a part of me wants so badly to dislike Carrie Underwood, I just can’t. It just doesn’t add up. She was on American Idol, she’s a budding country music star, she’s got big hair… But she pulled me in with ‘Before he cheats’ and I just can’t bring myself to hate her.
But darlin, we need to talk. I know you’re relatively new to this ‘being famous’ thing, but let me let you in on a little secret - if your outfit is yellow and navy, don’t wear black shoes. Maybe this little fashion rule has changed since my mother gave me this same chat ten years ago, but I don’t think so. I am coming to understand this new trend where it’s actually okay to intermingle brown and black, but navy and black? Am I missing something? Is it okay because her purse and earrings are black as well? Maybe it’s like Whitney Houston sings - ‘it’s not right, but it’s okay’.
Here’s the video for ‘Before he cheats’ because it’s the only mainstream country song I think I’ve ever loved. And I really, really love it. Country is usually so icky, but Carrie makes it all okay.

No, no! It’s ludicrous, but black and navy is THE color combination this fall. I read it online somewhere when I was searching for “fall trends” or something. But the pictures I saw were more navy top with black skirt…. not so much black shoes with a mostly navy outfit.
